Jackson News – Week of March 1, 1882
E.W. Duke of Butts county, was before Commissioner Smith this morning on a 
charge of illicit distilling and was bound over to appear at the next term of 
the district court in March.   Joe Smith from the same county, had a hearing 
for a like fence, but was dismissed owning to failure of witnesses to identify 
him.
