Jackson Argus – week of August 9, 1895
A Negro get a cinder in his ear a few days since and it gave him a deal of
trouble.  He went to a doctor and asked him to cure his ear.  The doctor charged
him one dollar and he agreed to pay it.   The doctor took out the cinder in a
jiffy and the Negro refused to pay him saying he hadn’t done enough to warrant
the charge.

The doctor put him back in the chair and put the cinder back in his ear.   The
Negro paid him the dollar before he got the cinder out again.
