M. Mallett, A. G. Hitchins, A. H. Smith, R. L. Daughtry, J. r. Wright, J. H. Carmichael, L. J. Ball, J. r. Carmichael and C. G. Fennell. The following resolutions were offered and unanimously adopted: Be it resolved by the stockholders here assembled that we heartily endorse the administration of the Directors for the past year, and that we express to them our appreciation of their efforts in keeping the Jackson Institute up to a high educational standard. Be it resolved that we express to President Blasingame and his co-workers our strong endorsement of his management of our Institute and its highest usefulness can only be attained by the lines heretofore laid down b him, viz; strict and rigid obedience and a thoroughness in all things. These are the elements that go to make up true manhood and womanhood, and our children should be so trained. Be it further perceived, that while we thank the public generally for their liberal patronage, yet we feel that the public is indebted the Jackson Institute stockholders for their gratuitous energy, zeal, and enterprise which has placed such a high grade institution in our midst, everybody should stand as a unite in their loyalty. We further believe that this culture, moral and commercial interest of our entire community is involved in this preservation of this institute, and that controlled by this view alone, all true loyal citizens should stand by the school and do all in their power toward its permanency. After some discutsion(? Discussion/discursion) and amendments, the following resolution was adopted: We the stockholders of the Jackson Institute hereby authorize the Directors elect to make such arrangements for the faculty and all other arrangements for the management of Jackson Institute in the future for from one to three years as they may see fit. No other business, the meeting adjourned. F. S. Etheridge, Sec’y W. M.
