B. Thomas met at the old homestead to spend a happy day together. Perhaps there is not another couple in Georgia who can produce such a record as this happy, loving pair, fourteen bright healthy children, fifteen grand children and all living. At an early hour we were all seated around a bright, cozy fire in the large, comfortable sitting room to discuss pleasant topics and listen to bright repartee. Soon dinner was announced and such a dinner! The ample table almost groaned under its weight of turkey, pies, cakes, fruits and everything necessary to make a Southern Christmas Dinner. O, what a happy scene! Father, with his silvery locks and bright face, seated at the head of the table, and mother, with her happy, beaming countenance seated near him, surrounded by their loving children. Indeed this time honored couple had caused to make this day one of thanksgiving. After dinner we repaired to the parlor to listen to sweet music and dream of this happy reunion and pray that the Almighty Father might spare us to meet again. The day passed away all too soon; good byes were said and we each sought our respective homes to take up the thread of life where we left off and wished for this noble couple a great many more happy reunions with their children and grand children One Present File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/butts/newspapers/jbthomas1950gnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.0 Kb
