John Daniel’s Daughter - Assaulted

A 15 year old negro they named Buck Hugh criminally assaulted; yesterday 
afternoon the little 4 year old daughter of John Daniels, who resides about 10 
miles from this place.  The screams of the child attracted the attention of 
the mother; and she went to her rescue.

The mother then rang the farm bell, which called Mr. Daniels who was working 
about a half mile away.  Mr. Daniel gave chase and captured the negro.  He 
then brought him to McDonough and turned him over to the sheriff.
