He was found dead in bed by some of his friends who missed him and instituted search for him. Death was apparently due to heart disease form which he had suffered more or less since boyhood. Mr. Jolly who was 72 years of age, lived alone and had never been married. He spent his time in reading and writing, writing under the name of “Occasionally.” He possessed a find collection of books and was one of the best-read men in the section. He was possessed of a brilliant intellect, and wrote and conversed fluently on all subjects. The deceased was a Confederate veteran. He belonged to Company I, 30 Georgia regiment, and was taken prisoner at Nashville, Tenn., and was a prisoner at Nashville, Tenn., and was a prisoner at Camp Chase at the close of the war. He is survived by two brothers, Messrs. Joseph Jolly, of Jackson, and Jim Jolly, of the Iron Springs district; two nephews, Messrs. Jesse T. Jolly, of Summerville, and W. D. Jolly, of Jenkinsburg, and one niece, Miss Tally Jolly, of Jackson. Funeral was held Saturday morning a the Macedonia Church with services conducted by Rev. Mr. Sharp, of Flovilla. Interment was at Macedonia church cemetery.
