Butts County Progress May 1908
John W. Lemon – Deceased

Death has claimed another victim.  The death angel passed by and wafted the 
soul of John W. Lemon into eternity.  

He was born November 21, 1826, married in 1854 and died May 16, 1908.  He was 
a member of the Congregational Methodist church about 30 years.  He had nine 
children, four of whom survive him.  He also leaves a widow, Mrs. Mary C. 
Lemon.  He was born near Jackson and lived all his years in Butts County on a 
farm.
