J. Barnes and H. T. Barnes, security to Maston Hendrick or bearer, dated the 4th day of December 1897 and recorded in the office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Butts County, in Book P, page 80, the undersigned as bearers and transferees for value, which transfer is in writing endorsed on said mortgage and signed by Maston Hendricks, the original payee and mortgager, and dated March 4th, 1899, the undersigned will sell at public outcry, at the court house door in said county, during the legal hours of sale, to the highest bidder, for cash on the first Tuesday in April 1899, the following property to wit: The Southern portion of land lot number two hundred and twenty six, containing Forty acres more or less, and twenty five acres more or less off of lot number Two hundred and twenty five, said lot or parcel of land commencing at a branch on South River near Macks Fish Hole, cornering with the land of R. R. Maddox. Joining with the land of S. J. Potts; running in a Southern direction to the line of lot No. 226, from thence South to lands of J. H. Pope; thence West to a Sweet Gum corner of J. H. Pope; thence North to the first branch, then the branch being the line, it running a North Eastern direction to the river thence to the line first started; for the purpose of paying a certain promissory note for the sum of Three Hundred and Forty Dollars, executed and delivered by F. J. & H. T. Banes to Maston Hendrick and by him duly transferred to the undersigned on the 4th day of December 1897, stipulating for interest at the rate of Eight per cent per annum from date and the total amount due on said note being at this date the sum of Three Hundred and Twenty Four Dollars and Thirty five cents as principal and interest besides ten per cent of said amount as attorney fees, together with the costs of this proceeding as provided is the said mortgage.
