Jackson Argus – Week Of December 3, 1896 December 3, 1896
MURDER AT FLOVILLA

Flovilla, Ga., December 1 – Ned Towns of this place was murdered here Saturday
afternoon by Tiny Hampton, both colored.    Coroner McElroy held an inquest
Sunday and Monday and after examining two witnesses, the jury decided the
murderer was Tiny Hampton and the murdered man’s wife was an accessory.  Hampton
escaped but the woman was arrested Tuesday and carried to jail.
