This act so enraged Thomas that he stepped out into the yard and seized a brickbat with the avowed intention of disfiguring his wife’s anatomy. His wife, presuming hostilities had begun drew a pistol and fired a warning shot at Thomas to let go the brickbat with a force that sent it square over the eye of his better half leaving a hole in her forehead somewhat resembling the indenture made by a six pound from our prize battle ship the Indiana. Marshall Collins got wind of the difficulty and thought he would go over and declare peace between the belligerents but when Thomas saw the large brass buttons on Collins coat come sailing down College Avenue, he remembered of some work that he had left undone out on the farm that morning and shifting his face in the direction of home he swiftly took his departure. His wife came to Jackson and had her wound dressed, and now the Marshall are on the lookout for the man who”fired dat las brick! Tom King is a brother of Jim King, whose wife killed little Laborn Washington at Worthville ago, some weeks, ago, and he is a desperate character and should be caught and jailed on general principles.
