Middle Ga. Argus – Week of August 4, 1883
Isaac Jolly, the Negro who was arrested and jailed at this place, on the charge 
of raping a little white girl 11 years old, was carried to Covington, by Deputy 
Sheriff Allen on Wednesday, and we learn from a note to sheriff Beauchamp that 
on the road near Covington, he made his escape.
