J. Thaxton Dear Sir: In your issie of the 28th of June you state that Dr. J. H. Bryans is ready to surrender the lease to Indian Springs, if the state will sell the same to a good party requiring him to erect a hotel suited to its demands, and you ask if I will consent. I regard the Indian Springs water the best of all waters in the South, and with a good hotel would be the Saratoga for the Southern people, I know no location where a modern hotel would pay as good interest on the investment as there, and most cheerfully surrender my claims on the lease to have the property sold fand a good hotel erected. A good hotel at the Springs would be of more solid value to the whole county than any railroad could possibly be. I am satisfied with a large modern hotel, her popularity would soon grow so as to eclipse any village on the E.T.V. & Ga. R.R. Yours truly, J. J. Lamar Middle Ga.
