He noticed that the cellar door was open and on going down the steps he discovered two little Negroes trying to make their escape through a ventilator hole in the wall. He succeeded in capturing the two, who proved to be the little boys of George Duke and Aaron Woodward, who had made their way up through the cellar into the store and had helped themselves to what candy, bananas &c they could eat. While carrying these two out of the house they reported that another boy named Mallett Dude was with them, but while Mr. Goggans was in the cellar he made good his escape. Mr. Goggans turned them over to an officer who placed them in jail. On Monday the Messrs.
