Hiran Lester, the antiquarian in question, was born in North Carolina in December 1769, which fetches him now to the ripe old age of 120 years. Col. Sloan of McDonough himself over 80 years of age, states that when he was a boy, Hiram Lester was already an old man. Lester is in good health, his teeth are sound, his eyesight and hearing good and he has given up all idea of dying. He claims to remember all about the revolutionary war and knew George Washington.
