Dear Mother – Just think of the 15th day of October when you bid you a long farewell. So dear mother we have taken the parting hands forever and ever; also my dear sisters and brothers fare you well. Your union’s sweet, your company dear, Your words delightful to my ear; But when I see that we must part, You draw like chords around my heart, But duty makes me understand That we must take the parting hand. for the last time on earth.
