Argus – Week of September 15, 1891 The great Piedmont exposition has arranged for a grand Red Man’s day on October 30th, when all the tribes in Georgia and adjoining states will turn out in one mighty band of forest warriors. Hon. W. P. Hemphill, Mayor of Atlanta, will deliver the welcome address and Hon. Y. A. Wright, of this place who is Great Senior Sycamore of the Great Council of Georgia, will reply for the Red men. This is a deserved compliment and we can safely say that brother Wright will do honor to the occasion, and such an oration has not been heard since the noted McIntosh, in whose honor our own Tribe was named, left the hunting grounds of Indian springs as he will deliver on that day.
