April 1877 Oliver Moore – School We are glad to hear that Mr. Oliver Moore has a large and flourishing school near Pittman Ferry. Mr. Moore is a good teacher and deserves a liberal patronage. Butts Argus – Butts County Week of April 5, 1877 Additional Comments: NOTE: There was also a church/chapel at this approximate/same location which was operated by a Mr. Moore. It was referred to as Moore’s Chapel. The church burned sometime after 1922. Pillows of the church remain at the location. Pittman cemetery just across the road.
