A suitable box must be put up by the patron. Unless this request is complied with within a reasonable time the free delivery service will be withdrawn from your premises. Rural carriers are not required to leave their route to houses which stand back from the road. This is an order of the postmaster general. The establishment of Rural Free Delivery does not involve the payment of extra taxes. Those desiring the delivery however must be prepared to put up as already stated their own expense, appropriate boxes for the reception of U. S. mail. The service is one of mutual accommodation and patrons are expected to meet the postoffice department half way in affording facilities for its operation. The patrons of Rural Route No. 1 are hereby notified that the post offices Stark, Worthville, and Fincherville will be discontinued by order of the Post office Department on the 15th of January 1901. Those living off he mail line desiring to be supplied by this service will give their names to Mr. Thos. Cawthon, the carried, and put up a suitable box as soon as you can in which to receive your mail. Those desiring further information can be informed by calling at Postoffice, Jackson, Ga. and also examine a suitable box left here for your inspection. W. E. Harp, P. M.
