On being released Ball left this section and went to Florida. But the brothers of Stobe Greer not being satisfied with the turn of the case swore out a warrant against Ball charging him with murder. The warrant was placed in the hands of Sheriff Beauchamp and securing requisition papers from the Governor he left on Saturday last for Florida after Ball. He was found in Luke county, about 150 miles below Jacksonville and readily consented to return with the Sheriff without formally perfecting the papers. By making close connections on the railroads Sheriff Beauchamp returned with his man on Monday night and placed him in jail to await a preliminary investigation before a justice of the peace.
