The store has been missing things for quite a time and Sheriff Beauchamp was put to work on the case with the result that Will Pettigrew was arrested on Tuesday charged with having stolen flour. A lot of the flour was found in possession of Laura Allen, a negro woman living near the depot. She at first refused to tell where she got the flour, but finally admitted that she had gotten it form Will Pettigrew. The brand is one that is handled exclusively by the Star Store. The drayman was given a preliminary trial Tuesday before Judge Roberison and was bound over to the superior court under a $200 bond for larceny after trust. He was in the habit of stealing the flour before it reached the store and on unloading would report the full amount.
