Warner Smith -- Respected Negro Man
Warner Smith, a respected negro man, aged about 62, living on Mr. Marion Maddox’s 
place, in the Iron Springs district, was stricken with paralysis yesterday, while 
talking to Judge B. P. Bailey, on business.  Dr. Byron was summoned and found that 
his whole right side was affected.  After the doctor had attended to him, he was 
taken home by his son in law.  It was a close call, and he may yet die from it.
