At the commitment trial before Judge McMichael the defendant was represented by Attorney Wright who entered a pleas of self-defence, based up the evidence that Washington threatened Blessit’s life and was going toward the defendant with a knife when he fired. Attorney W. E. Watkins represented the state. The defendant was bound over on $250 bond. Butts County Progress Week of June 16, 1908 Additional Comments: The name is spelled as Blessit and Blesset.
