C. Strother of Wallaballa, S. C. for $12,000. This was the only bid made and it is understood that Mr. Strother bid on the property solely to protect himself in a claim he held on the property. He is a railroad man and as the hotel business is out of his line it is more than likely he has an elephant on his hands. It was once designed to establish a female at the Springs and use this building for that purpose, but the project fell through. It is possible that this plan may again take shape and culminate in the establishment at Indian Springs of a magnificent college for girls. The location is certainly an ideal one and with sight changes in the arrangement of the building it could be charmingly adapted to college purposes. The hotel season is only of three months duration and why not use the building nine months for school purposes. By the way, it could be converted into a great sanitarium, couldn’t it?
