Mr. Grant has for some time been confined to his bed out at the residence of his father in law, Mr. D. D. Swint near Jenkinsburg, and for a long time has been suffering with troubles bordering consumption. His condition has been very precarious for several weeks past, but his friends hoped that a turn for the better might come, until Thursday evening when his condition became such that his death was momentarily expected. Mr. Grant was formerly night operator at the depot in this city, and married Miss Lilla Swint, daughter of Mr. D. D. Swint here some six or eight years ago. He was about 28 years of age, and leaves a wife and one child to mourn his untimely departure. His remains were carried to Stockbridge Saturday morning for interment, and were followed to the grave by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives. Jackson Times.
