That by his untimely death his class has sustained the irreparable loss of one who was the peer of any of his classmates on the field, on the rostrum and in the class room. 2nd. That we individually have lost an esteemed fiend, the University a loyal and devoted student, and the State one who posses such principles that, at his maturity, we have made him a useful and an honored citizen. 3rd. That we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and assure them that their loss is shared by his classmates, friends and the entire college, and that a copy of these resolutions be sent to the afflicted family, to the Jackson Argus, to the Red and Black and to the Georgian.
