Middle Ga. Argus – Week of March 15 1892
Mr. Thomas J. Carson, father of Mr. Ponie Carson and Mrs. H. C. Thaxton died 
after a brief illness at the home of Mr. H. C. Thaxton, on Wednesday of last 
week.  He was the oldest man in the county, lacking a few days of being eighty-
nine years old.  His remains were laid away at Sandy Creek on Friday after a 
funeral by Rev. J. G. Kimbell.
