Middle Ga. Argus – Week of June 3, 1892
At four o’clock on Wednesday the immortal spirit of Mrs. Sarah Sassnett, mother 
of Miss Eva Sassnett of the Jackson Institute winged its everlasting flight to 
the great beyond.  She was in her 68th year and from early life she had been a 
warm and working Christian.  She died with a perfect consciousness of her 
approaching change of worlds.  Her remains were carried to Sparta on yesterday 
morning where she will be laid to rest by her distinguished husband, the late 
Rev. W. J. Sassnett.
