Middle Ga. Argus – Week of April 29, 1892
Mr. Gus Watkins, an old gentleman well known in this county and father of Mr. 
Richard Watkins and Mrs. Andrew Goodrum of Flovilla died at the home of the 
former on Monday morning of heart failure.  He had long been an honored citizen 
of Butts and was loved by all.  His remains were laid away at Sardy Breek on 
Tuesday.
