Argus – Week of June 16, 1893 Death, the last enemy of the human race, has again visited the home of our esteemed brother, H. A. Crumbley, and claimed as its victim his loved companion. After a lingering illness in which she suffered much, Mrs. Mahalah C. Crumbley, on the night of 13th May, 1893, took her exit from time to eternity She joined the Phillippi Baptist Church in her sixteenth year. Was baptized by Rev. Laucy Duffey (who was then pastor) and lived a consistent devoted Christian life to the day of her death, a period of thirty two years. She was a loving and devoted wife, a kind and affectionate stepmother, and always bore her part of the burdens of life cheerfully and willingly.
