Judge Stewart

Judge Stewart died in Griffin, on the 28th of last month,.  He was well known 
through this entire state, and was a man recognized by all who knew him as one 
worthy of their admiration.  In addition to his services as lawmaker, he was a 
great light in the Baptist church, of which he was a member and a leading 
minister.  He rose from poverty and obscurity to a high place among our eminent 
men, and could have secured any office within the power of the people to bestow 
upon him.
