T. Heflin, who breathed her last yesterday at twenty minutes past 11 o’clock. She was taken violently ill only two or three days before her death, with fever and information of the bowls and stomach. Mrs. Heflin’s sojourn in our midst was but a few week’s duration during which time she made many acquaintances and was beloved by all who knew her. We doubt if any person made so favorable an impression, in so short a time, as did this Christian lady among those of her acquaintance in Jackson. From intense suffering her spirit has found rest. She was a devout Christian. She was charitable and kind to the poor. Soon after her identification with the people of Jackson, she was instrumental in organizing a society among the ladies known as the “Ladies Mutual Aid Society,” for the purpose of raising funds for a good and noble purpose, which has just become thoroughly organized, of which she was vice president. Few so young and gay as she was, being in 21st year seldom take an important part and manifest so deep an interest in the welfare of their friends and the cause of Christianity. Never ever passed more humbly beneath the rod, or looked up with greater faith to Him There is a paragraph here that is not illegible due to indistinct print. Who grieve for the patient sufferer, now at rest, that she did entirely bow to the will of God and that as long as she had strength of mind and body to do so, she strove to win others to the Master whom she served and in whom she found peace in believing. Such is said of Mrs. Heflin. For only 11 months she shared the joys of a devoted husband and mutually divided this sorrow. God bless and comfort her grief stricken husband and bereaved relatives. Her remains will be carried to Atlanta today, her former home, for interment in Oakland Cemetery. The deceased is the daughter of Mrs. Ozborn, and a niece of Mrs. Mangum of Atlanta.
