Killing In Butts
     Mr. FRED CARGYLE shot and killed a young man named KIP HARRIS with a 
double barreled shot gun, on last Sunday evening week, near Pittman’s Ferry, in 
Butts County. Mr. Cargyle is old and crippled and had forbidden Harris, who was 
young and stout, from visiting his daughter. On Sunday Harris passed Cargyle’s 
house and endeavored to force himself in, the old man warned him several times 
not to come in, but it had no effect. Harris had reached the door when Mr. C. 
emptied the contents of his gun in the breast of Harris, killing him almost 
instantly.
