Justice Lamar’s Soul Summonsed Before The Bar On High

At nine o’clock Monday evening last Justice L. Q. C. Lamar died at the home of 
W. H. Virgin in Vineville near Macon.

The death of this able Jurist and statesman is a loss to the south of one of 
her ablest men.  He has filed almost every position in life with which the 
people could honor him. From a lawyer to a school teacher to congressman, 
senator, cabinet officer and Supreme Justice he has served his country nobly.
