G. Lavender died at his home in Iron Springs district on Monday last after a long illness with bone cancer. His remains were interred at Sandy Creek cemetery. Mr. Lavender was about 56 years of age. He had been a very active man and by economy and industry had accumulated a good home with all of its comforts and many of its luxuries. But above all this comes the character he built up for integrity and honesty among his neighbors. One of his neighbors said to us, “you can’t say too much for him on this line. He was a consistent member of the Christian church.” Jackson Argus – Butts County Week of September 1, 1899 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/butts/obits/l/lavendar8171gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.2 Kb
