M. Crawford and Chief of Police L. M. Crawford seven miles from Jackson, out in the Iron Springs district. They spotted him in hiding in John Tanner’s barn, and learned that he had a double barreled breach loading gun with him, but by taking their time and slipping up on him, a pistol was in his face and he was caught before he suspected anyone was around. Sheriff Crawford carried him to Griffin Tuesday, and received the $100 reward which had been offered for his capture. Redding is said to be a very desperate character. He plead guilty Thursday and Judge Reagan sentenced him for life.
