Argus – July 28, 1883 Mrs. Josiah Freeman The death of Mrs. Josiah Freeman, which occurred on the 21st, cast a shadow of gloom over Indian Spring and the surrounding vicinity, of which place she had been a citizen for many years. She and her husband settled near Indian Springs soon after they were married and have raised up some eight or ten children, and accumulated considerable property, having started out in life without means. Mrs. Freeman had once been one of the most through-going woman perhaps that ever lived in Butts county, and although her sufferings were intensely severe for several weeks previous to her death, she bore it with the same steadfast firmness that she had lived, and now that her earthly mission had ended, her Creator standeth ready to welcome her - -“Well done, good and faithful servant, enter thou into joys of thy Lord.” Just one year ago the husband and father Mr. Josiah Freeman, was placed in the family burying ground some half mile distance from the Indian Spring, and now that the cold icy hand of death has stilled the heart that beats warmer for her child than any other, has gone to reap the reward that he promise all true Christians, we prevail upon the children to initiate the example so nobly placed before them by the one that can touch a tenderer spot in the heart of man than any other..
