He had been sick but a few days with neuralgia of the stomach. It is useless for us to speak of Mr. Carmichael’s many good traits, as he was well known and loved far and near. He had long been a leader in Fellowship Presbyterian church and was never known to miss a church meeting, when able to attend. He was especially attentive to the sick in his neighborhood, and never failed to perform an act of charity, when such demanded. If he had lived a short while longer, he would have been seventy-nine years of age.
