F. Swan Mr. W. F. Swan, for many years of resident of this place, died at his sister’s in Troup County on Friday at 12 o’clock. His remains were brought to Jackson on Saturday where they were met at the depot by the members of St. John’s Lodge of masons, to which he had long been a beloved and honored member, and conveyed to the residence of Mr. H. N. Byars where they remained till 12 o’clock and then conveyed to the cemetery by his brothers of the mystic tie and interred with the usual Masonic honors. His brother-in-law, Mr. E. P. Cleveland, accompanied his remains to Jackson. It will be remembered that Mr. Swan received a stroke of paralysis some time ago, and, after several weeks confinement to his bed was carried to his sister’s in Troup where he gradually grew worse until death came to his relief, as above stated.
