Jones. She had been for some months a victim of that incurable and fatal disease, consumption, and at one o’clock Tuesday morning the frail body yielded to the monster and the vital spark went out. How sad to see the fond wife and mother fall a prey to this awful disease that no medical skill can check, nor to band of affection mitigate, but there is one consolation in connection with this dread disease; few if any ever fail by its unerring stroke but what they express a willingness to go, and such was the case with this young wife and mother, she expressed herself as fully willing, only regretted leaving two little ones to the care of others. The surging billows of the dark and turbid steam had no terrors for her, friends that had gone before beckoned her to come and be with them at rest. May the great protector guide the little orphans and prepare them and the bereaved husband for the meeting where parting will be no more.
