John Aiken

The son of Mr. Willey Aiken, was kicked by a mule on Tuesday of last week, 
while unhitching it from the plow, he was kicked above the ear and his skull 
broken.  He lingered through two days intense suffering and crossed over the 
river to the land that knows no tear; there we hope he has found rest.

We are pained to learn that young John Aiken’ son of this county died last week 
from the injuries received by his mule kicking him.

He was plowing and had stopped for the purpose of going after water and while 
unhitching the traces the mule kicked him in the temple, cracking the skull, 
and knocking him senseless, and we learn that his death ensued after two days 
suffering
