Daniel to die on the gallows Thursday, December 14. The killing occurred near Indian Spring on the night of August 25. Singley was returning to his home from Indian Spring in company with several other white men, when the party was fired upon from ambush near the home of the Turner negro. J.R. Connor, one of the party, was also shot, but not seriously hurt.
