Jackson Argus – Week of November 8, 1895
On last Saturday, Rev. J. T. Thurston, of Jackson, died after a short illness. 
 Mr. Thurston was at the time of his death, possibly the oldest resident of
Butts county, being eighty-four years old.

There are three other persons only in the county over 80 years old, and Rev. J.
T. Kimbell, one of these preached the funeral of his departed brother.

His remains were buried with Masonic honors at Bersheba cemetery in Henry county
last Sunday afternoon.

Quite a number attended the funeral exercises from this place.

In speaking of the death of Mr. Thurston in our last issue, we had it
J. T. Thurston when it should have been G. W. Thurston
