Jackson Argus – Week of March 11, 1897
Mr. Jack Thaxton died at 7 o’clock p.m. Tuesday after a sickness which dated
only from last Saturday.   He was a man of many excellent traits of character
and was a son of John T. Thaxton.   He was buried at Towaliga.  The Argus
extends sympathy to sorrowing family.
