While out at target practice with several friends, Mr. Walter Welch, a most exemplary young man, accidentally shot himself with a Smith & Wesson pistol, 38 caliber. The ball entered the left breast just under the nipple. Medical assistance was immediately called in, but it was soon discovered that he was beyond the aid of human agencies, and death ensued the night following. Mr. Welch was only twenty-four years of age; was held in high esteem by all whom he came in contact. He leaves a young wife to mourn his untimely death.
