Mr. Emmet Whitaker was treated for a sore on his ankle by a so-called specialist from Macon, and the bone of his leg was injured by the medicine used, which made it necessary for partial amputation, under which operation he died as stated above. Mr. Whitaker was a noble young man and was just entering the arena of a profitable career. His father, Mr. J. F. Whitaker, has worked hard to educate and care for Emmett and his other motherless children. Emmet was the oldest child and of course had gotten to be very useful to his father. He will be missed by the entire community.
