Obituary of Susan Williams Jun 1921 Butts County, GA Butts County Progress June 1921 MRS. SUSAN WILLIAMS CALLED TO REWARD Coming while she was taking an afternoon nap the passing Friday afternoon of Mrs. Susan F. Williams, came as a shock to the family and hosts of friends. Her death occurred at the home of her son, Mr. Fred Williams, with whom she had made her home for some time. After dinner she lay down for her usual nap and when members of the family found her later she was dead. Death was said to have been caused by paralysis, she having suffered one stroke some time ago. Mrs. Williams, who was 66 years of age, was a native of Spalding county and was a Miss Miles before her marriage. She had made her home in Butts County for some twenty years or more. She was a member of Cedar Rock Church and her many fine traits of Christian character were to be seen in her daily life. By a large circle of friends she was held in the highest esteem and her going away will be widely mourned and sincerely regretted. Mrs. Williams reared a large family of splendid sons and daughters who survive her. The sons are Mssrs. T.E., Walter, Ernest, Fred and Oscar. Her daughters are Mrs. N.C. Williamson, Mrs. J.S. Reeves, Mrs. J.O. Pressley, Mrs. Tom Maddox and Miss Florrie Williams, all of whom have the sympathy of scores of friends. The funeral was held at Cedar Rock church Saturday afternoon at 3 O'Clock, a large concourse of friends and relatives gathering for a last tribute. Rev. E.C. Wilson, of Jenkinsburg, conducted the services. Many beautiful floral offerings attested the love and esteem in which the deceased was held. Her grandsons acted as casket bearers and the body was laid to rest in the churchyard. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
