CURRY – STATE SENATOR To the Voters of Butts County: Partial friends having solicited me to make the race for the State Senator, I take this method of announcing the fact that I will do so. I Have served you for the past fifteen months as county judge. I have tried to make a good record as such and two successive grand juries have given their unqualified endorsement of the administration of the office. I hope my friends will stir themselves and get the people out to the polls on the 28th day of March. Those who vote for me will, I hope never have cause to regret it. I will always stand by my friends. We now have but a few more days before the campaign for State Senator for the Twenty-Sixth District is over, I have, so far, made a clean canvass of the county in my own interest,. Had hoped that my opponent and his friends would do likewise. I have said nothing about Mr. Atkinson’s public or private life that I will have cause to regret. He is an old citizen of this county and is too well known by the people for me to undertake to inform them. He is a minister of the gospel, called by God to preach the unsearchable riches of the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world,. His call, if it comes from God, is high and holy, one that should it come to me, I would feel that of all men, I was most blessed, and would never seek the call of any people to serve them in a political office. Since living in the county I have tried to make my life as an open book. I have tried to be true to my friends, and God being my helper, I will continue so to do, and the many friends who are standing by me in this fight will never have cause to regret it. The victory looks like it is won, but let each of my friends press the battle till the polls close on the night of March 28th. By the rules adopted by Executive Committee NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, so don’t stay away from the polls if you have not registered, but come out and vote. I shall undertake to represent the district faithfully and when I see I cannot discharge the trust imposed, I will resign my seat to the Senate and hand back to you the commission unsoiled and unstained. My greatest interest in Butts county is farming. I have all that I have made since I came to your county invested in farm lands and the interest of the farmers will be safe in my hands. Vote for me and I will greatly appreciate it. Frank Z.
