The depositions of Jeese T. Gunn and George L. Thompson were taken in Butts Co. 
on August 8, 1850 by Henry Hendricks and James W. Swan. They were made 
regarding the estate of John Williamson Jr. of Jackson Co. GA. His father, John 
Williamson Sr. had come to Butts Co. c.1826. His will(1831)left land and slaves 
to his grandson, Nathan C. Williamson, and the balance of his estate to John Jr.

These copies came from the Georgia Supreme Court File-"Winney Williamson vs. 
Jas. B. Nabers et al"-October Term 1853, in the Georgia State Archives. A copy 
of the original deposition(s)was found in "loose papers"-Jackson County Court 
Records at the Hargrett Library, University of Gerogia, Athens GA. This copy is 
a very good transcription of that document.(See two additonal pages).
