Thompson & Jeese T. Gunn(page 2 of 3) These three pages were found in the Georgia State Archives, Georgia Supreme Court file-"Nabers vs Williamson"-October Term 1853. They were among 73 pages of a transcript taken from the Jackson Superior Court(August Term 1853) regarding the estate of John Williamson Jr. of Jackson Co. GA. John had died in October 1849. His supposed will there had been invalidated, and then appealed to the Supreme Court. These depositions were taken regarding prior distributions to John's son, Nathan C. Williamson. Nathan had come to Butts Co. in late 1830 or early 1831 to assist his grandfather, John Williamson Sr. The older man had come to Butts Co. about 1826. Nathan inherited 600 hundred acres and 3 slaves from his grandfather(John Williamson Sr.'s will-Butts Co. 1831). An orginal copy of these(joint)depositions was found at the Hargrett Library- Main Library, University of Georgia, Athens GA. It shows that George L. Thompson & Jesse T. Gunn were deposed in Butts Co. on August 8, 1850 by Henry Hendrick and James W. Swan(n). See "Libel for Divorce" and other Williamson-related items.
