David and Rebecca(Hunt?)Maddox

This large(6.5 x 8.5)tintype is believed to be the image of David and Rebecca 
Maddox of Butts Co. GA. The original copy was obtained by Edna Laney(Knowles)
O'Ferrel from her aunt, Eva(Knowles)Johnson, wife of Samuel Snow Johnson of 
Fulton Co. GA. Eva K. Johnson, who dabbled in oils and watercolor, is thought 
to have retouched this image of her grandparents. Eva, who was born after their 
deaths, was the daughter of Oscar Bryans and Laney(Maddox)Knowles of Butts Co. 
David Maddox(1803-1872) and Rebecca(Hunt?)Maddox(1816-1888)are buried at Sardis 
Baptist Church in Henry Co.
